A change request in Implement Changes is worked through its changes. Each change has its own Coordinators and QAs, named on the change, and its own statuses.

Before you start

  • The change request is in Implement Changes and the change is In Progress.
  • You are named on the change: as its Coordinator to sign it on, or as its QA to close it.
  • You know your Complere password.

Steps

  1. Open the change request from Controlled Change › Change Requests, then open its Changes Listing tab. Each change row has an Escalate button.

  2. As the change's Coordinator, select Escalate. The form Escalate status to Awaiting QA sign-off opens. Type your password and a Remark, for example what was done, then select Sign. The change is now Awaiting QA sign-off.

  3. As the change's QA, select Escalate on the same row. The panel offers Escalate status to Closed and Escalate status back to In Progress. Select the arrow beside Escalate status to Closed, type your password and a Remark, then select Sign.

Result

The change is Closed. When the last open change is closed, the change request moves on by itself from Implement Changes to Awaiting QA sign-off.

What gets recorded

Each entry appears on the change request's Audit Trail tab.

What the audit trail records

  1. The change's Coordinator or QA signed.

If something is different

The Escalate button on the change row is greyed out.

A change whose Closure Dependencies are still open shows Awaiting Dependency, with its Escalate button greyed. When those changes are Closed, the change's Coordinator can sign it on to Awaiting QA sign-off.

The change request's status button cannot be used.

It reads "All associated changes must be closed before proceeding to the next step". The change request moves on by itself when its last change is Closed.
