Roles

Two kinds of role decide what you can do with an event: your system role, and the roles you are named in on the event.

System roles — set for each user

Administrator
A system role. Creates events, updates their roles and marks them obsolete. Signs only when named in a role.
Supervisor
A system role. Creates events and updates their roles. Sees Event templates, Settings & Master and Audit Trail in the menu.
Regular User
A system role. Creates events and updates their roles. Downloads an event once it is Closed.
Read Only User
A system role. Opens the events; cannot create or sign.

Event roles — named on each event

Coordinators
Named on the event. Send it on from Created, and can change its details there.
Inquiry officers
Named on the event. Fill in the Inquiry Form and sign in Under Inquiry.
Reviewers
Named on the event. Sign in Under Evaluation.
QAS
Named on the event; the screen writes this role as QAS. Sign in Awaiting QA sign-off to close it.

Who can do what

These are the permissions the Events Permissions page shows (Quality Event Management › Settings & Master › Permissions). A status name in a cell means the action is allowed in that status only.

Who can do what: actions by role. A status name in a cell means the action is allowed in that status only.

The Permissions page itself shows one column per status and, in each cell, a tick for every role that may take the action ("The roles highlighted in the matrix are the ones assigned to you."). It reads "Note:- Administrator, Supervisor, Regular User are eligible to create events." It has Filters and Export, and no way to change a cell. It also lists actions this page leaves out: Post Remarks, Add Files, Delete Files, Download Files, Restore, Reset from obsolete and Reopen.

If something is different

  • You are an Administrator but have no button to sign. Signing is done by the people named on the event. An Administrator signs only when named in a role.
