Statuses

The Platform has no record lifecycle. The one status it keeps is a user account's. The Users list shows it in the Status column.

Status What it means How it changes
Enabled The person can sign in. The page of a user who has not signed in yet reads Not Logged In. Bulk Actions › Disable, signed with a Reason
Disabled The person cannot sign in. Bulk Actions › Enable, signed with a Reason

To disable a user, see Disable a user. To enable one again, see Enable a disabled user.

Roles

Each user has exactly one system role, set in the Permission Role field of their user record. Role names can be renamed by your company; these are the default names.

Role What it is for
Administrator Sets up the company: users, groups, roles, sign-in and every module's settings.
Supervisor By default it has every box ticked in Role Permissions, as an Administrator does.
Regular User Works in the modules. Can see users, groups and the other lists in Complere Settings, but not change them.
Read Only User Can see and export the lists in Complere Settings. Changes nothing there.

What a person can do inside a record also depends on the roles they are named in on that record, and on its groups. For documents, see Document Control: who can do what.

Who can do what

These are the default permissions. Text in a cell names the condition under which that role can do it. The defaults for the lists in Complere Settings are set in Role Permissions (see Change what a role can do).

Who can do what: actions by role. Text in a cell names the condition.

If something is different

  • The role names on your screen differ from this page. Your company renamed them under General Settings › Roles.
  • A role can do more or less than this page shows. Your company changed the defaults in Role Permissions. Ask your Administrator.
